Female Iconby Jara García
Sharon, 19 years old, Carabanchel, Madrid.
Fair skin, to-die-for bodies, extraordinary budgets and a hectic lifestyle were the elements that made up a diva in the 1950s. Reinterpreting the classic Hollywood iconography and movie posters and defying the limits of the “female icon”, Sharon poses with a dress that belonged to her mother, some one euro tights and borrowed kitten heels.
This editorial proposes a democratic, contemporary and updated version of the explosive female diva, only this time from the female and post-colonial gaze.
